Kimono Shoes for A Baby Shower

I have a nice friend who's just having a baby and I plan to give her a present for the baby. The present will consist of a pair of shoes, two baby kimonos, a baby hat, and (maybe) a bib. What a great plan, huh :P I'm not pretty sure if I can make them all... I do hope I can finish them all this weekend.
ps : The best part is I've finished the kimono shoes, hooray!!!

Sara Louise Bag : My First Attempt

I have an Indonesian copy of Bag Boutique: Making Fabulous Purses And Totes by Amy Barickman/Indygo Junction Inc. for almost 2 months, but I haven't read it yet. Till last night I opened that book, and stuck at its last tutorial, that is Sara Louise Bag Tutorial. Instantly fall in love, I could't wait to make it and dug my fabric box to search the must-match fabric to cut :D

So, I got a remnant of peachy tweed (I made a lot of it into Channel look-alike cropped jacket), a blue flowery japanese cotton & a light brown polkadot japanese cotton,Then I cut them according to pattern, without asking any opinion of my husband. He usually puts negative comments on my fabric choices :( so I didn't ask him last night (of course I knew that he wouldn't disagree...)

So, here she is.. A Tweedy Sara Louise Bag

For lining, I used the light brown polkadot cotton. I didn't put any zipper or anothe closure, except front button. Cause the tutorial said so :D

Girly Dress for Zakiyya

Update : Zakiyya in her purple girly dress

Few months ago I bought a beautiful pink-green-blue-and purple flowery cotton and took it home. I still didn't know what I want to do with it. I bought it because it was very pretty. The reason was so cliche & ordinary. Maybe the better reason was my habit of impulse buying :)

So, until few days ago I still didn't know what I want to make with the fabric. But after reading a Girly Dress tutorial from Jennifer Casa from JCasa *Handmade, I came up with this :

I changed the style a bit, changing the neckline, adding more volumes on the dress, adding two pockets, and after all that changes, Jennifer's is still 1000-times better than mine. But afterall, it is easy and non-time consuming. As a beginner crafter, I only needed 2 hours to make it complete, from making pattern untill attaching the buttons. It is really easy, you should try this :)

Next pic : Zakiyya in Girly Dress (maybe I'll upload the pic tommorow, right now I'm so sleepy)

Fabrics from Tanah Abang & Dreamesh

I went to Tanah Abang last Thursday for another fabric shopping. It seems that my posts about shopping are much more than my sewing projects/tutorial posts now. I don't know why it happens, but I guess it is because my increasing laziness LOL
Oh now about the shopping.. I bought some japanese cottons & got a very nice border fabric. The border fabric is number one from the right side (white cotton with black & pink flower print) and it was oh-so-cute so I grabbed it without thinking twice

I also bought some pom-pom trimmings, swarovski trimmings, and purple button. The swarovski trimmings are great for revamping paris-cotton hijab. Swarovski embellished paris-cotton hijab style is very popular in Jakarta (and Indonesia). Attaching them into hijab by myself is a great bargain. Attaching them myself is (trully) cheaper than buying the hijab in stores. You must try it by yourself :)

I also received a great package from Amesh @ Dreamesh. They are batik, so pretty and I can't resist to look at them everytime and think any idea to turn them into great things. I ordered them to make Zakiyya's dress, and probably I'll use the lowest green batik to make the dress. But the others ? they're all so cute XOXO

I love you but I hate you "White Asparagus and Crabmeat Soup"

White Asparagus & Crabmeat Soup
Well, I won't give you any recipe about this georgeous & delicious soup. I just remind myself that eating this soup gave me a lot, lot, and lot.... of suffering from urticaria. It's been 3 days I get an urticaria at entire of my body. The doctors had given me 2 injections of Dexamethasone 0,5 mg and give me any Dexamethasoone pills to help me reduce the illness, but the urticaria seems won't stop. And it's so frustrating :(

I love this, but I hate this !!!

Note:
You can find a great article about Urticaria here
